Andhra Pradesh has deployed the Kumki elephants gifted to them by the Government of Karnataka in May. These Asian elephants are specially trained to drive away wild elephants entering the Palamaner forest division in Chittoor. Their deployment is aimed at combating the rising human-elephant conflict and protecting both human lives and farmers' crops, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan wrote on X.
