After the stampede at actor-politician Vijay's rally in Karur, which claimed the lives of at least 39 people, BJP leader K Annamalai criticised the government. He said, "There are reports that electricity was disrupted during Vijay's gathering." He added that it is the police's responsibility to estimate crowd size accurately and choose a suitable venue for such political events.
