Antarctica will witness an annular solar eclipse, creating a "ring of fire" as the Moon would cover most of the Sun on 17 February 2026. The peak spectacle, lasting just over two minutes, will be visible at remote research bases like Concordia and Mirny. Partial eclipses will also be seen across Antarctica, southern Africa, and southern South America.
