America Online (AOL) is shutting down its dial-up internet service after more than 30 years. The service, which connects via a phone line, currently operates only in the US and Canada. AOL co-founder Steve Case confirmed the closure on social media, writing, "Thanks for the memories RIP." The service will end on 30 September.
