Assam Cabinet tightened rules for inter-religious land transfers and NGO acquisitions from outside the state, with scrutiny by police and revenue officials. It also cleared private projects worth ₹969 crore, creating 2,700 jobs, and sanctioned ₹6 crore for closure of a state corporation. PM Modi’s Assam visit is now set for September 13–14.
