Assam-born conservationist Raktima Basumatary is leading a global mission to save the Khasi Holly, a critically endangered tree found only in Meghalaya’s Khasi Hills. Backed by the Zoological Society of London’s EDGE Fellowship, her two-year project will map its range, assess threats, and work with local communities to protect its fragile habitat.
