Assam Rifles paid tribute to Nb Sub Shyam Gurung, who laid down his life in an ambush in Manipur’s Bishnupur on September 19. A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Shillong, attended by DG Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, family, and locals. Gurung was cremated at his residence. The ambush also injured five personnel.
