A rare variety of Assam tea called Manohari Gold fetched ₹1.15 lakh per kilogram in an auction. "The tea was sold through a Kolkata-based private portal and was purchased by Hyderabad-based Niloufer Cafe," Rajan Lohia, Managing Director of Manohari Tea said. Manohari Gold is a tea made from tender shoots of the second flush and is produced once a year.
