A medical experiment conducted during Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station suggests that people with diabetes might be able to travel to space. The Suite Ride study found that continuous glucose monitors and insulin pens function reliably in microgravity. Notably, this was the first time diabetes management tools were successfully tested in space.
