When Tarun Mehta started Ather in 2013, he created the entire electric scooter end to end but that meant competing against big players and more than 80 venture capitalists had rejected him. He later launched Ather 450 and became the 4th largest by volume in 2020. Today, Ather sells 4 lakh scooters yearly and is valued at ₹22,150 crore.
