Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Committee, Sonia Gandhi, condemned the incident wherein a lawyer attempted to throw his shoe at CJI BR Gavai. "No words are adequate to condemn the attack...It's an assault not just on him, but on our Constitution as well. CJI Gavai has been very gracious, but the nation must stand in solidarity with him," her statement read.
