Bayern Munich romped to a 10-0 victory over Auckland City, a team made up of part-time players in its Club World Cup opener. The New Zealand side was made up of teachers, university students, barbers, sales reps, and even a forklift driver in goal. Some of Auckland's players had to take unpaid leave to travel for the tournament.
