Australia will ban social media use for children younger than 16, starting December 10. The move aims to protect children from cyberbullying, harmful content and online addiction. The law prohibits children from creating or maintaining accounts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube. Companies violating the law could face fines of up to A$50 million (approx ₹290 crore).
