Australia to fine social media firms $32 mn for defying under-16 ban

Australian government on Thursday introduced a bill in parliament that aims to ban social media use for children under 16. The ban carries fines of up to A$49.5 million ($32 million) for social media platforms for systemic breaches. "We know some kids will find workarounds, but we're sending a message to...companies to clean up their act," PM Anthony Albanese said.
