UP CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to grant land ownership rights to families displaced from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and settled in the state for decades. He said, "This is an opportunity to honour the decades-long struggle of thousands of families who took refuge in India." Reportedly, over 10,000 such families reside in Pilibhit, Bijnor, and Rampur districts.
