Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty said Bollywood panicked during the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas the South Indian film industry didn't. "[Bollywood] sold everything to the platforms. So now...they have reduced the whole industry at the mercy of two platforms," he added. "If the two platforms don’t want to take the film, then [it] is not going to get made," said Resul.
