Former CJI DY Chandrachud said that the construction of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was a "fundamental act of desecration". Chandrachud was part of the constitutional bench that had delivered the verdict on the Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid dispute in 2019. He said there's evidence to support the desecration and asked, "How can you shut your eyes to it?"
