The foundation of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link is supported by long concrete piles, but they do not end at the ocean bed. They travel through the ocean bed and extend even after the hard strata. The support from hard strata is the reason why the bridge is able to carry huge weight, making it one of the longest seabridges in the world.
