Dengue is surging across Bangladesh, with health officials reporting the biggest single-day rise in both deaths and hospital admissions so far this year. At least 12 people have died in the past 24 hours, and more than 700 new patients have been hospitalised across the capital, Dhaka, with the deadly mosquito-borne disease, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
