Ahead of PM Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Manipur, Governor Ajay Bhalla reportedly convened a meeting of BJP MLAs. The legislators were told to minimise tensions and ensure peace in their constituencies during the visit. This would be PM Modi's first visit to the state since the ethnic conflict between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities broke out in May 2023.
