Beijing recorded its longest cold wave this month since records began in 1951. The Chinese capital has witnessed more than 300 hours of below-freezing temperatures since December 11, said state-backed Beijing Daily. During this period, Beijing also endured nine consecutive days of temperatures below minus 10°C. Several Chinese cities are also facing heating supply crunch amid low temperatures.
