Karnataka Cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to rename state-run Bengaluru City University after ex-PM Manmohan Singh, as a tribute to his contributions to the state capital. This marks the first university in India to be named after Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26, 2024. BJP leader R Ashoka opposed the move, saying that the Congress hates Bengaluru.
