To tackle the rising stray dog menace, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao announced plans to build shelters on Bengaluru's outskirts. Government and private lands will be used for the initiative. Repair work at the Sumanahalli animal crematorium is underway, and land in each corporation limit will be allocated for animal welfare and sterilisation activities.
