A Bengaluru woman was allegedly cheated of over ₹68 lakh by her close friend of 20 years and the friend's family members. The accused reportedly took multiple loans and investments from her but repaid only ₹17 lakh. Cheques bounced and false promises of land were made. After threats during repayment demands, a police case was registered and investigation is underway.
