Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (BESCOM) has disconnected the power supply to Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru after discovering that the stadium lacked a mandatory fire safety clearance, specifically the Fire No Objection Certificate. Chinnaswamy Stadium was recently in the news for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL victory event on June 4, during which a stampede claimed 11 lives.
