Bihar recorded a voter turnout of 60.18% until 5 pm in the first phase of the state Assembly elections held on Thursday, according to Election Commission data. Begusarai saw the highest turnout at 67.32%, followed by Samastipur at 66.65% and Madhepura at 65.74%. Muzaffarpur recorded a voter turnout of 65.23%, while Patna, the state capital, registered a turnout of 55.02%.
