AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government for deciding to withdraw the Mohammad Akhlaq mob lynching case. He alleged that the BJP "always stands with the guilty". The 2015 case involved the lynching of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq in Bisada, Dadri, after rumours that he had slaughtered a cow and stored its meat at home.
