BJP MP Medha Kulkarni has demanded that Pune railway station be renamed after Shrimant Thorle Bajirao Peshwa, the seventh Peshwa of the Maratha Empire. The demand was raised during a meeting convened by the Pune Railway Division. Kulkarni said, “There's no representation of Pune's rich history at the station." "We aren't in favour of [it]," NCP(SP) spokesperson Ankush Kakade reacted.
