BJP reminded Congress of Baharul Islam, their MP, who was appointed a judge of the Gauhati High Court in 1972 and later the Supreme Court in 1980. Islam re-entered politics in 1983 after acquitting the then Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra in a scam case. Congress is opposing the appointment of former BJP spokesperson Aarti Sathe as a Bombay HC judge.
