A new study shows that blocking FSP1-a protein that shields cancer cells from stress causes lung tumours in mice to shrink by up to 80%. The protein normally prevents ferroptosis, a form of cell death triggered by oxidative damage. Researchers say targeting FSP1 may offer a powerful new approach for treating stubborn lung cancers.
