Mumbai's civic body, BMC, cleared over 1 lakh kg of waste from Azad Maidan and nearby areas during the Maratha reservation protest between August 29 and Tuesday morning. The waste, including food packets, bottles, slippers, and posters, filled 54 compactor dumpers, officials said. The protest, led by Manoj Jarange, was called off after the state government accepted most demands.
