Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai has scrapped plans to procure Turkey-made robotic lifebuoys for deployment across beaches in the city. The move comes amid boycott calls against Turkey over its support for Pakistan during conflict with India. BMC had last month faced criticism for awarding contract to a Turkish company to supply robotic life-saving equipment.
