Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping over a phone call on Monday, discussing BRICS, the G20, and bilateral business ties. Both leaders agreed to seek new economic opportunities and defend multilateralism. Lula had earlier said he'd consult BRICS members on countering US president Trump's tariff threats, after he labelled the bloc 'anti-American'.
