The Himachal Pradesh High Court ruled that dependent parents are entitled to family pension if a BSF jawan’s widow remarries. The single-judge bench of Justice Sandeep Sharma directed the Union of Government to grant pension to 83-year-old Shankari Devi, mother of late BSF jawan Lekh Ram, after her claim was denied following the remarriage of his widow, Suraksha Devi.
