Researchers developed a new technique that harnesses the energy released by a collapsing bubble in a liquid (known as cavitation) as a potential propulsion system for tiny robots or "jumpers". These "jumpers" heated up quickly when hit by a laser, causing surrounding liquid to form vapour bubbles that collapsed to release energy. These robots could help replace needle-based drug delivery.
