A fast-track POCSO court in Nalgonda, Telangana, has sentenced Mohammed Mukarram to death for the 2013 rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl. Judge N Roja Ramani also imposed a ₹1.1 lakh fine after a decade-long trial. The crime, which shocked Nalgonda, took place when the girl was home alone. Verdict was pronounced on 14 August.
