The Centre on Wednesday extended registration cut-off for Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis who came from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh till December 2024. The minorities will be allowed to stay in the country without passport or other travel documents. Earlier, minorities, who faced persecution and entered before December 31, 2014 were provided Indian citizenship.
