PM Narendra Modi-led Cabinet approved two major projects of Ministry of Railways with a total cost of ₹6,405 crore, covering seven districts in Jharkhand, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The Koderma – Barkakana Doubling (133 km) project passes through a major coal-producing area of Jharkhand, while the Ballari – Chikjajur Doubling (185 km) project traverses through Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
