Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has set up a separate unit for auditing about 1,600 public sector undertakings (PSUs) run by state governments for faster auditing and achieving greater efficiency. The new vertical comes with one that will have positions for auditing only the state PSUs of a particular state. Currently, CAG's senior management audits PSUs of 4-5 states together.
