Thyrocare Founder Velumani Arokiaswamy said he had come to Mumbai with ₹500 but left the city with a cheque of ₹5,000 crore after selling his stake in the pharmaceutical company. "In Mumbai, people with money cannot make as much money as those with stamina," he added. Velumani, the former CEO of Thyrocare, sold his 65% stake to PharmEasy in 2021.
