Shikhar Pahariya, actress Janhvi Kapoor's boyfriend and grandson of Maharashtra's former CM Sushil Kumar Shinde, addressed the Marathi language row and said language preservation shouldn't be driven by fear. "Asmita, a sense of self and identity should uplift, not divide...Let Marathi Asmita shine through inclusion," Shikhar said. "Protect Marathi by celebrating it not weaponising it," he added.
