Supreme Court criticised the 2:1 reservation ratio for male and female officers in the Indian Army's Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch on Monday. Calling it "arbitrary", the court said, "Executive cannot reserve vacancies for men." The top court was hearing a writ petition filed by two women seeking appointment to the post of JAG Entry Scheme challenging the disproportionate vacancies.
