Jeff David has been appointed Canada's new Consul General in Mumbai, announced Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. This is the first diplomatic posting by Canada to India since the 2023 fallout, after ex-Canadian PM Justin Trudeau alleged Indian agents' involvement in Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar's killing. The countries are also reportedly planning to soon reappoint High Commissioners.
