The Bhopal administration has prohibited the use of carbide guns after more than 300 children reportedly suffered serious eye injuries and 14 lost eyesight during Diwali celebrations in Madhya Pradesh. "The sale, distribution or display of any type of illegal prohibited firecracker, fireworks, illegal modified firecrackers (carbide guns)....will be completely prohibited," an official order said.
