A 71-year-old woman, Bandana Das, was murdered in her sleep in Guwahati’s Kharghuli area in Assam, and her caretakers, Ratul Das and his wife, were arrested after Ratul confessed to stabbing her and dumping the weapon. The couple initially tried to fake a break-in. Police suspect a property-related motive, as the victim had no legal heirs and investigation is ongoing.
