The Central Railway conducted its first trial of the indigenous 'Kavach' automatic train protection system in Maharashtra. The trial in Solapur Division took place on a 26-km stretch between Dhavalas and Bhalwani stations. The 'Kavach' system is designed to prevent accidents due to overspeeding, signal passing at danger and collisions by exchanging real-time signalling and location data.
