The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved setting up the International Potato Centre’s South Asia Regional Centre (CSARC) in Agra. The move aims to boost food security, farmer income by enhancing potato and sweetpotato productivity, an official release said. CSARC will develop high-yield, climate-resilient varieties to benefit India and South Asia through advanced research and innovation, it added.
