The Ministry of Education has directed all states and Union Territories to conduct audits of safety mechanisms and facilities in schools, officials said. The move comes a day after a government school roof collapsed in Rajasthan's Jhalawar, killing seven children. "Structural integrity, along with fire safety, emergency exits and electrical wiring, must be thoroughly assessed," an official stated.
