Delhi HC imposed a ₹20,000 fine on Centre for concealing facts in its plea seeking review of the court's previous order directing that IRS officer and ex-NCB officer Sameer Wankhede be promoted. The Centre opposed Wankhede's promotion citing penalty proceedings against him. The court criticised the Centre for not disclosing that Central Administrative Tribunal had already stayed the proceedings.
