The Union Power Ministry has listed six hydropower projects in the Northeast, including the 2,000 MW Lower Subansiri, as “vulnerable” due to high-altitude, upper-Himalayan locations prone to floods and landslides. Early Warning Systems are mandatory, with Lower Subansiri set for full commissioning in May 2026.
